Environmental Groups File Lawsuit Challenging Naples Development Project

Environmental Groups gathered at the Courthouse steps today to announce the initiation of litigation to preserve the Naples property on the Gaviota Coast. The Naples Coalition, Environmental Defense Center and Surfrider filed a lawsuit against the County of Santa Barbara Thursday, challenging the County’s approval of the SB Ranch Project on Oct 21, 2008.

Environmental Groups Announce Landmark Agreement to Limit Oil Development and Protect Lands in SB County

The Environmental Defense Center (EDC), Get Oil Out! (GOO), and Citizens Planning Assoc. of SB (CPA) announced today that they have signed an historic and unprecedented agreement that will allow for development by Plains Exploration & Production Company (PXP) of the Tranquillon Ridge Oil and Gas Field off Lompoc, while curtailing the life of existing oil and gas operations offshore Lompoc and the Gaviota Coast.
